Strength Training at Goodlife

Strength training is good for longevity and uses weights and gravity to build muscle mass and improve bone density.

We have a whole range of weight options, from free weights to static weights to dumbbells, and kettlebells to help you get stronger and feel good for life.

Or if you prefer training in a group, give one of our classes a go. BodyPump, GRIT Strength, or Reform Pilates are good for an effective total body workout.

Strength training foundations

Follow the three R's of strength training to get the most from each strength-building exercise:

  • Resistance: This is the actual weight you’re lifting

  • Repetition: Repeat each movement to fatigue

  • Recovery: Give yourself a rest period between sets

Why do strength training?

Strength training is about more than getting buff. Consistent weight work can be good for:

  • Increasing muscle and bone strength

  • Increasing your power

  • Shaping your body and burning fat

  • Having the strength to do everyday things from lifting your kids to bringing all the grocery bags inside in one trip
